Experience the wonder and magnificence of Tanzania’s ability to amaze and surprise with its eternal beauty of its snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, the wilderness and safaris of Serengeti, and its dramatic contrast with the soft shores and the spice isles of Zanzibar.
Tarangire National park
Welcome to one of Africa’s most underrated parks lying to south of lake Manyara and famous for its highest concentration of Elephants in the region. The landscape of the park is much diverse than Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater which are close to the Tarangire. Elephant herds in their hundreds migrate from the Masai steppe south of the park – with some recorded traveling from as far North as Amboseli in Kenya. The peak months are August, September and October when up to 3,000 elephant create the highest density of the species in the country. However, Tarangire is much more than just an elephant stronghold; this park is beautiful, quiet and surprisingly good for its diversity of game. It is also one of the only places in Northern Tanzania to offer first class walking safaris and fly camping trips inside National Park boundaries. In our view, Tarangire is an incredibly underrated and beautifully quiet park. Long may it stay that way!
The Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Ngorongoro crater known as the world’s only largest intact caldera (collapsed volcanic cone) is one of the richest spots with a range of wildlife and diverse lush vegetation inside the crater which provides a rich habitat making it a breeding zone for animals. For a change of pace, hike the Ngorongoro crater rim. Visit the Olduvai Gorge, a famous anthropological site, is also found inside this protected area of the crater. Game drive in Ngorongo offers you an opportunity to see the black mane lions very common in the area with the lake in the Crater being a home to thousands of flamingoes that migrate along the Great Rift Valley lakes. Elephant, buffalo and rhino all exist in much greater concentrations here than anywhere else in Africa.
Serengeti National park
The vast open plains of the Serengeti are in turn one of the most famous destinations for a safari in Africa. The immense, open grasslands epitomize for many, what Africa is all about, and deliver a breathtaking backdrop to the annual wildebeest (and zebra) migration, punted by many as ‘the Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth’.
Zanzibar!
After a somewhat dusty, often rigorous, but always remarkable wildlife encounter in the game reserves of Tanzania, what could possibly be more magical than time spent lolling on languid silvery beaches next to the balmy ocean, relishing freshest seafood landed by local fisherman, enjoying guided tours in forests of spice trees … or snorkeling crystal clear water alongside brilliantly colored fish. Intriguing Zanzibar is the Tropical utopia that has this all.
