Italian Riviera
The most exquisite coastal strip of the Lingurian Sea is carved out by the Alps and the Apennines on the Italian soil, forming the rugged and romantic Italian Riviera. Italian Lakes
After the reclusive coastal villages and cliffs of the Riviera, head to the Italian lakes known not only for its mersmerising landscape but also the cutting edge artistic skills which has been spoken by many poets, writers etc. The beautiful inverted ‘Y’ shaped lake ‘Como’ is embraced by green wooded cliffs and snowcapped Alps and is the most popular for its silk production where you can witness the weavers creating best of Italian threads and the popular resort town of Bellagio and Villa Carlotta an elegant 17th century mansion with lush terraced gardens. To the west of Lake Como lies Lake Maggioie with its 3 popular bohemian islands and main town of Stresa with a delightful promenade known for its flowers & views of lakes Islands. One cannot miss the largest of all Italian lakes to the east of Como, Lake Garda with its rolling hills, gardens, vineyards, lemon trees and olive groves and the visit to the famous spa town of Sirmione most popular town on banks of Lake Garda is highly recommended.
Dolomites
From the colorful plains of the Italian lakes, head to the Alpine limestone peaks of Dolomites. Famous for their iconic ski routes and plethora of winter sport activities, the Dolomites are often viewed as an ideal winter getaway. En route is the beautiful hamlet of San Cassiano, where you can enjoy some traditional Tyrolean cuisine before you reach the peaks. The Dolomites can be best explored by car or, a mountain bike. You can also take in the most mesmerizing ski route of Sella Ronda – a 40 km circumnavigation of the Gruppo di Sella range, through a cable car ride or chair lifts.
Venice
From the peaks, drive down to the eternal city of romance, Venice. Though you will not need the car once in Venice, the ride down the Dolomites, with its winding paths and splendid views, offers a breath taking experience. Venice, the city with magical lagoons and romantic Gondolas is as enchanting and mesmerizing as its grand Basilicas and Galleries.
